Fee & Payout Terms
What GFX charges, when it is charged, how the settlement cycle works and when money reaches your account.
This document is published for review and has not been settled with counsel. It does not yet bind GFX or anyone else. The version that takes effect will carry a version number and an effective date in the stamp above.
Counsel must review this page before it takes effect. What follows describes how GFX's ledger and settlement actually work, so that the binding version can be written from the real mechanics rather than from assumptions.
Commission
One rate, agreed with you before you list anything, fixed for twelve months. It does not change during that period unless you agree to change it.
The rate varies by category. Thin-margin categories carry a lower rate — charging a handset seller what an accessory seller pays is a way to lose handset sellers, not a pricing strategy.
Commission is charged on the item value of a delivered order, plus GST on the commission at the applicable services rate. GST on our commission is GST you can normally reclaim as input credit if you are registered.
The rate is frozen when the order is placed. If your rate changes afterwards, orders already placed still settle at the rate that applied when they were sold. This works in your favour as often as against it, and it is the rule that makes a statement checkable months later.
What else we charge
| Listing fee | None |
| Monthly or subscription fee | None |
| Closing fee per order | None |
| Storage fee | None — we hold no stock |
| Removal fee | None |
| Fee to remain visible in search | None |
| Markup on shipping | None. Where GFX books the carrier we charge back what the carrier charged, and nothing on top |
Shipping, where GFX books it, is charged at the carrier's actual cost. You can also ship the order yourself, in which case GFX charges nothing for shipping.
Payment gateway charges are passed through at what the provider charges. We add nothing.
Full worked arithmetic, including what other marketplaces charge that we do not, is in the fee calculator.
The ledger
Every amount that affects your balance is a separate entry with the rate that produced it attached — sale, commission, shipping, payment charge, adjustment, reversal. Nothing is netted into a single line, so a statement can answer "why is this number this number" by being read rather than recalculated.
Entries are append-only. A mistake is corrected by a reversing entry that points at the original; nothing is edited or deleted. Your balance is the sum of your entries and is verified against them nightly.
Settlement cycle
| Hold period | 7 days from delivery, covering the return window |
| Cycle | Weekly, on Monday, covering everything that became payable in the previous week |
| Return reserve | The value of your open returns, withheld — the actual exposure, not a blanket percentage |
| Minimum payout | ₹500. Below this the balance carries forward; bank charges make smaller transfers pointless |
| Negative balance | Carried forward and recovered from the next cycle. Never transferred out of your account |
An order becomes payable when the hold period has passed and no return is open against it. A statement is generated, reviewed, and the transfer is made against it.
Returns
A return inside the hold period reverses every fee on that order. Commission, shipping and payment charges are all reversed — you are never left paying commission on a sale that came back.
A return after the money has been paid out drives the balance negative, and it is recovered from the next cycle rather than demanded back.
Statements
Every settlement produces a statement carrying: your details and GSTIN, the period, opening and closing balance, every delivered order with its fees and the rate applied to each, deductions, statutory deductions, adjustments with the reason and who approved them, returns and reversals linked to the original sale, and the payout with its bank reference.
Downloadable as PDF and CSV. If a statement cannot tell you why a number is what it is, that is a defect and we want to hear about it.
Statutory deductions
TDS and TCS are deducted where the law requires, at the applicable rates, and shown separately on the statement with the figures you need for filing.

Bank details
Payouts go to the verified bank account on your GFX profile. Changing it requires re-verification, and payouts pause until that completes — an inconvenience that exists because the alternative is a fraud that costs a seller everything they are owed.
Disputes
Raise it through seller support with the statement and the entry. We will explain the entry or correct it with a reversing entry. Unresolved, escalate to the Grievance Officer.
